Cuisinart Dcc-1150
I have a perfectly good cuisinart dcc-1150 DCC-1200, but after the discovery in 2000 at a local store, I could not stop fiddling with the floor model. Well, my wife was lurking as I fiddle with my birthday coming - and my affinity for coffee - she thought she had found the perfect gift. Boy was she was right. One of the complaints I read here is that you need a separate container to fill 2000. I can not be the only owner who has a Pyrex 2-cup (or more) measuring cup can I? I just fill it once, twice - gasp! - Three times and pour it in while watching the water level on the side. Honestly, it's not that hard. Cleaning is no different from any model with a carafe. But instead of washing the exterior you remove carafe inside "carafe" of the flush or give it a thorough cleaning. It's the only difference. The gauge of coffee is a bit ridiculous and inaccurate and I rarely ever looked, but it adds to the allure of 2000. I'll keep my 1200 in hand for my sister to use when she approaches him terrible flavored coffees so they do not contaminate my new toy. But as the advance of the next great design happens when I can not say "no", I will enjoy the 2000 maximum. It's great, it's fun and makes great coffee. . . Two weeks ago, I needed a new coffee maker. The Krups Aroma Control machine in all stores and catalogs, so I bought one in the local mall before reading the reviews on Amazon. Big mistake. Lesson learned - read the reviews - many negative comments. I used it for 3 days, and easily understandable to the (. . . ) description of "eye candy" (pretty, but seems to be cheap plastic) and weak coffee (what they describe as a feature - leaving the Coffee steep - is really a euphemism for a poorly designed system that is guaranteed to give you a small cup of coffee). One redeeming feature - the carafe is very nice. Within 2 days of having the Krups, I was on Amazon looking for a replacement coffee maker (a good cup of coffee is essential in the morning!). I went out on the risk curve and ordered the new cuisinart dcc-1150 - not mind. The cuisinart dcc-1150 has a more classic brewing system (water goes through grinds gravity), gives a delicious cup of hot coffee, has a variable temperature hot place, and looks and feels solid. Sometimes we have stainless steel appliances (refrigerator, freezer, stove) and it is wonderful. Better news - excellent coffee!. I highly recommend the Cuisinart. . . .
